Tramway Buffet Plaza | Affordable Eat-all-you-can Resto

Nowadays, buffet restaurants have been a go to by families and friends who wants to eat out and celebrate or just to gather. There are many eat-all-you-can restaurants in the Metro, all serving good food of different varieties. You can choose from cuisines like Chinese, Japanese, Thai, American style, Filipino or those with the combination of all commonly known as International Cuisine. Of course the price is also observed, if you search for the famous buffet restaurants around, you will notice the price is usually starting from P500 up to P2,000 ranging from the nicest to the most reputable restos. For some it might be a bit pricey for just lunch or dinner. So I was quite surprised with this Buffet Restaurant that only costs P205 to P248 per person. It's called the Tramway Buffet Plaza, offering three Asian cuisines namely Chinese, Japanese and Filipino.
According to their web site's about page, "Little do people know that Tramway started in 2001 as an ala carte restaurant serving authentic Cantonese cuisine. Tramway was derived from the Hong Kong Tramway which signifies a classic and authentic Hong Kong brand."
They have four branches, the Tramway Teahouse Banawe, Tramway Garden Buffet Timog, Tramway Buffet Plaza Shaw and Tramway Bayview Buffet Roxas all having different price range. You can visit their website for more information: http://www.tramwaybuffet.com/index.html

So my friends and I decided to try their restaurant. We went to Tramway Buffet Plaza Shaw branch at UGF Worldwide Corporate Center, Shaw Boulevard cor Edsa, Mandaluyong City. It is across the Starmall. When we got there, it's not crowded so we did not wait too long. We were there for dinner, we approached the reception area and then we were directed to come inside and was seated. A girl was then roaming around listing down the guests who comes and gives them spoon and fork. The spoon and fork only comes from her so we assume that the utensils are indicating the number of person to avail the buffet. I asked if the payment is to be made after we eat she said yes. The buffet here costs P248 per person. It is by batch, guests have two hours to eat and enjoy. We were there 8pm so we leave by 10pm.

Me with my boyfriend and friends.

The place is neat and nice looking. White tables with a good comfortable chair. Air conditioned and well-lit. The staff are nice. Extra plates and mini bowls are available as well as different kinds of condiments or sauce that you need. They also have cold service water, i drank it, its clean. We did not order soft drinks or any juice because it will make us feel full and we may not try all the food. They also charge for leftovers, i kind of forgot, but i believe its P10 per gram of leftover food.

.........and the food tasting begun!

SOUP, MAIN DISHES & SIDE DISHES

Soup of the day: Egg soup
Fried wanton, tofu, california maki, fried chicken and century egg. Its my first time to try the century egg, it tastes funny it really is an exotic food.
Another plate of fried wanton, fried chicken, tofu, dumplings and fried pao. We had sweet&sour pork too.(not seen in the photo)
Carbonara pasta.
Red sauce pasta. And a piece of kikiam.
Lumpiang Sariwa in Filipino or fresh Lumpia, lumpia wrapper with diff. kinds of veggies and sauce.
Spring rolls and Yang Chow fried rice.

DESSERTS

Fresh fruits: Watermelon and Pineapple.

Coffee Jelly.
Buko Pandan.
Plate of Buchi(the best), Maja Blanca, Bilo-Bilo with peanut toppings(the round white and violet), Gelatin(pink and blue) and the other two white and violet oval shaped dessert, i forgot what its called, its covered in coconut and sugar.

All in all, the food tastes good. All the food i posted are only the ones i took from the buffet that i would eat. But i believe all i posted are pretty much it. Except maybe for some main dish that i did not try, fish for example, some vegetable, salad, and pancit. Because I'm not very fond of these foods. And all the dessert are everything i found at the dessert section. So for the price of P248, it is worth it. You get to taste the three cuisines and for all that you can eat. But not all the food tasted good, for me, one is the carbonara, as you can see from the picture itself, its so plain, its tasteless and it doesn't even have a bit of a ham/bacon or any meat or any herbs in it. And the gelatins tasted like plastic and its not that sweet. But the rest is really good, really tasty dishes, the fried chicken, fried wanton, dumplings, spring rolls, fried rice, all of 'em!

We took photos outside before we left.
The entrance and the reception area.

We are really going back here, maybe with more friends or with family. Very affordable and worth the money! :)

50's Diner | One of the best place to eat in Baguio City that is so worth your money!

Baguio City isn't just known because of its climate and tourist spots, the food there also is a must try. Good restaurants that can only be found at the summer capital of the Philippines.
One of the best place to eat is at the 50's Diner, located at Upper General Luna Road, Corner Brent Road 92 Leonard Wood Rd, City of Baguio. It is an American style casual dining restaurant. It is referred to us by our good friend Mary Anne when we were in Baguio. And she said its pretty famous, been featured in some tv programs. Actually it is the first restaurant we ate at when we got there, Mary Anne brought us there for breakfast, because we arrived at 6:20AM, Sunday, October 27, 2013. We went on to look for hotels, we checked all the nearby hotels in the city, to find an affordable yet comfortable place to stay. After that we got to 50's Diner at about 8:00AM.
Me with my Boyfriend outside the Diner.

With our friend Mary Anne.

The look of the diner outside is very nice, the red cool looking car outside was said to be the owners'. And has always been there. And it added to the unique look of the diner. While inside, as you can see behind me the walls are filled with portraits of different Actors and Actresses in the United States. The one behind me is Marilyn Monroe, oh i love that one!

The tables and seats are also classic looking. The bar, with the lighted signage 50's diner looks so vintage as well! And i love the light at this diner, my favorite color, PINK!

Oh boy we were not that hungry because were more of sleepy, we didn't had a good sleep at the bus.
But the food looks appetizing and it was in large servings! Here are photos of the food we ordered:

GUYS ON THE HOOD P135
A combination of pork chop, slice pizza, chicken, spaghetti and garlic bread served with fries and vegetables.

The food are crowded in one plate! The chicken is sitting over the pork chop, the bread in the pizza, P135 is so worth it! Their serving is so huge!

SHE P185
Chicken leg, pork chop again, a breaded fish, minute steak, hotdog with fries and vegetables! All for P185!

I also ordered a Ripe Mango Shake for P70 or P65 i forgot the exact amount. It was so fresh, not sour or too sweet!

Us enjoying the food!

My happy handsome boyfriend!

Did not get the chance to take a photo of the menu, and the whole place because i was so tired i totally forgot about it.

All in all, the place was amazing, very comfortable, the food was delicious, its all fresh and tasty! The service was great, i did not remember waiting too long for our orders. The waiters/waitresses are friendly and attentive, even some people who we believe is the manager or the owner attended to our needs. We even catched them cleaning tables and helping their crew! It was really a great eating experience, that's why me and my boyfriend came back the next day! But too bad Mary Anne had work and she did not come with us. Here is the video the following day we returned:

So that's our experience at the famous 50's diner! Hope you enjoyed reading, thank you!
